Shari Brown is married to Chris and they have 2 daughters. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio, in June of 1980. Shari has taught in three different school districts and directed vocal and hand bell choirs at four United Methodist churches. The Browns moved to Ashland in December of 1989.

Shari's desire for any church choir is to aid the listener in drawing closer to Christ. The pianist and composer, Joseph Martin, said at a recent music conference, "part of the way we talk to one another about spiritual things is through music." Our purpose at Ashland First is to bring a music offering of words and passion that lift up the name of Jesus and thereby add to the spiritual encounter of the Sunday morning congregation.
